The University crew management has announced that the annual race with Yale will be held on June 30, subject to the approval of the Athletic Committee. There has been considerable difficulty in fixing a date suitable to both colleges. Yale wished to hold the race on June 22, since their examinations end in the previous week, and the commencement crowds are then in New Haven. This date was objectionable to the University crew, however, since it is the day before Class Day, and only a day after the close of the examination period.
As was the case last year, the race, on account of the tide, will be rowed downstream, starting from a point opposite the quarters at Red Top:
The Freshman race will be rowed in the morning up-stream from the Railroad Bridge to the Navy Yard. At that point the University four-oared crews will start soon afterwards, and will finish opposite Red Top.
