The Freshman association football team was defeated by the New Bedford Y.M.C.A. team on Soldiers Field Saturday afternoon by the score of 9 to 0.
The New Bedford team was composed of heavier and more experienced players than the Freshmen, who had only played one game this season. Maguire made many difficult stops at goal and Francke played a good defensive game at right fullback, but the forwards allowed themselves to be drawn out of position and failed to work together. For the New Bedford team Murphy excelled in carrying the ball and in shooting, scoring three goal from difficult shots. Score--New Bedford Y.M.C.A., 9; Freshmen, 0. Goals--Murphy 3, Hartley 2, Done 2, Bernter, Gilholme. Referee Morris. Linesmen--J.A. Milholland '14, C.F. Maxwell '14, and Higgingottom. Time--45-minute halves. 1914 vs. Law School at 4. The Freshman association football team will play a team made up of Law School men on Soldiers Field this afternoon at 4 o'clock. The Law School team has been organized only recently, and this is its first game.
