Yale was defeated by the New York National team at the Polo Grounds, Saturday, in two five-inning games, the scores being 1 to 0 and 4 to 0. The Yale batteries did good work and the work of the Yale infield was exceptionally clean for early season games. Freeman, who pitched the first game for Yale, was very effective.

Other college games, resulted as follows: New York American second team 4, Princeton 1; Brown 9, Trinity 0; Baltimore Eastern League team 7, Cornell 2 (7 innings); Lehigh 6, West Point 3; Pennsylvania State 10. Aunapolis 1; Pennsylvania 3, Swarthmore 1.
