Shift in University Eight

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Two changes were made in the University eight yesterday afternoon. Withington returned to his regular position at 5, Hooper changing to the port side at 2. Stratton, who was put at 6 in the second boat, has held the seat at 2 in the University crew regularly since the beginning of practice this half-year.

The crews were hampered in their work by the high, cold winds. Rowing up to the Watertown Arsenal in short stretches, the time in the University boat was poor; the men rushed their slides, and did not catch together. Coming back to the boathouse with the wind behind them, their work improved considerably.

The substitution of Trumbull at 2 in the Freshman boat seems to be an improvement. Coach Wray did not follow the work, as the launch will not be ready until this afternoon. With the better observation possible from the launch, he expects to make several changes in the Freshman crew within the next few days.

The orders:

University crew.--Stroke, Goodale; 7, Cutler; 6, Strong; 5, Withington; 4, Newton; 3, Metcalf; 2, Hooper; bow, Balch; cox., C. Abeles.

Freshman crew.--Stroke, Chanler; 7, Mills; 6, Morgan; 5, Storer; 4, Converse; 3, Gardiner; 2, Trumbull; bow. Reynolds; cox., Hay.
