SOCCER TEAM WON EASILY

Andover Outclassed 7 to 0 in First Game of Season for University Eleven.

The University association football team defeated Phillips Andover Academy on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon by a score of 7 to 0.

Considering the condition of the field and the fact that this is the first game of the season, the work of the University team was quite satisfactory, though there is need for improvement in a concerted attack. Andover lacked team-play and its defence was ragged.

In the first half the University team scored twice, Barron making the first goal on a penalty kick, which was given for use of hands. Four minutes later Byng kicked a goal from the side-lines. Andover had one chance to score, but was prevented by Barron.

In the second half the University team scored five times, and kept the ball well in Andover's territory. By scored the first two goals and Winston the third on a kick from the scrimmage. Then Seamans scored on a pass from Needham. The last goal was made by Byng from the side-lines. Kwan's work for Andover was excellent, and for the University, Byng, Barron, and Seamans showed up particularly well.
