At a recent meeting, the Board of Overseers confirmed the appointment of Professor Charles H. McIlwain, of Bowdoin College, as assistant professor in the Department of History.
Professor McIlwain graduated from Princeton in 1894, receiving there the degree of A.M. four years later. Between 1901 and 1903 he studied at the Harvard Graduate School and there received the degree of A.M. For two years he was professor at Miami University, and then returned to Princeton as preceptor of history, politics, and economics. Last September he accepted a professorship of history at Bowdoin.
