Professor Max Friedlaender, German exchange professor at Harvard from the University of Berlin, has concluded his term of service at the University and will leave Cambridge today for a two months' lecture trip in this country before returning to Germany. He will go first to New York, where he will lecture for a fortnight at Columbia University. From here he will go to Rochester and Ithaca, where he will deliver several lectures at Cornell University. After another brief visit to New York, he will go to Columbus, Ohio, to speak at Ohio University. Continuing west, he will lecture next in St. Louis, and from there he will go to Chicago, to deliver a series of addresses at the University of Chicago. At the University of Wisconsin, he will give a similar course of lectures. It is possible that he will go to San Francisco, before returning to New York, whence he will sail for Europe about April 1.

The lectures of the exchange professors both at Harvard and at the University of Berlin fall during the first half of each academic year. During his term as a member of the University Faculty, Professor Friedlaender has conducted four courses in the Department of Music. Two of these have been open to the public, and in each lectures have been delivered once a week. Attendance in the other two has been confined to students in the University. What should prove to be a permanent memorial to the departing professor has been established at the University in the form of the University Chorus. This was modeled on the chorus at the University of Berlin, of which Professor Friedlaender is the director.
