YALE WON ON SATURDAY, 28 TO 3

New York University Made Hard Fight for Three Periods.--Scores of Other Games.

The Yale University football team defeated New York University Saturday afternoon by a score of 28 to 3 in a game which was rather unsatisfactory to Yale supporters. Not only did the New York team score a goal from the field, but in the first half it allowed Yale only six points, and in the second half twice recovered the ball on downs on its own 10-yard line. During the first half of the game even Captain Howe could not seem to put any life into the Yale, men, and it was not until half way through the third quarter that Yale's scoring machine got started. After this a number of long runs by Spalding, Freeman and Howe resulted in three touchdowns and a field goal.

New York University's field goal was made possible by four successive forward passes, each one of which fooled the Yale men completely. These carried the ball to Yale's 20-yard line, from where Moore kicked the goal.

Other Football Games Saturday.

Other important outside games on Saturday resulted as follows: Carlisle 16, Pennsylvania 0; Dartmouth 18, Amherst 6; Cornell 15, Williams 14; Brown 30, Tufts 0; West Point 0, Georgetown 0; Michigan 6, Syracuse 6.
