NOBLE LECTURES FOR 1911-12

The William Belden Noble lectures for 1911-1912 will be given by Dr. Wilfred T. Grenfell h. '09, medical missionary in Labrador. Dr. Grenfell has not yet announced the titles of the seperate lectures, but the general subject will be "The Adventure of Life." The dates of the lectures, which will be given in Sanders Theatre, are as follows: December 7, 8, 11 and 13. The lectures will be open to the public.

Wilfred T. Grenfell was born in England in 1865 and received his education at Marlborough and Oxford, and later under the famous Sir. Frederick Treves at the London Hospital. He fitted out the first hospital ship for the North Sea fishermen and cruised for several years about Iceland establishing homes for fishermen and fitting out mission vessels. In 1892 he came to Labrador where he built four hospitals, a system of co-operative stores, an orphanage, and in many other ways alleviated the suffering among the fishermen.
