First Lacrosse Practice Yesterday

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Owing to the inclement weather yesterday only 24 men reported to the first call for candidates for the lacrosse team. Of these, 16 were candidates for the University lacrosse team and eight for the Freshman team. It is expected that at least 30 more will be out as soon as the weather conditions are more favorable.

The practice yesterday was very light, consisting merely of tossing the ball and light stick work. Scrimmages will begin in a few days. Coach Smith had charge of the squad yesterday and will be on the field every afternoon until the middle of next month when the fall practice will close with a scrub series in which all the candidates will have the opportunity of taking part.
