The Library Committee of the Union is planning to use the show cases in the writing room of that building for the display of a number of prints and photographs of the Far East, the majority of which will be loaned by Dr. D. W. Ross '75. The display will be entirely under his charge, and will be changed every two or three weeks.
At present the cases are filled with a rare collection of Japanese prints, interesting chiefly for their color and design. Dr. Ross will next exhibit some of the photographs which he took in India last summer.
With the idea of making the members of the University realize how comprehensive the library is, the committee is also planning to publish a list of the new books accepted by them at each meeting. The members of the committee read all important current books, and once in two weeks meet and decide which are worth buying. They also consider for purchase books suggested by readers.
