S. J. Elder to Lecture in Union

Mr. S. J. Elder, Yale '53, will deliver a lecture in the Living Room of the Union tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock, on "The Fisheries Arbitration at the Hague."

Mr. Elder is a distinguished lawyer and was one of the senior counsel employed by the United States to represent them in the arbitration proceedings last summer.

In his lecture tomorrow night Mr. Elder will give a brief description of the organization of, and procedure before, the Hague Court. He will then sketch the details of the fisheries controversy from its beginning, directly after the Revolutionary War, down to the present time; and will close with a discussion of the seven questions submitted last summer to the Hague Tribunal, explaining the significance of the court's decision on each of the counts.

The lecture will be open only to members of the Union.
