J. R. Jewett '81 Professor of Arabic

At the last meeting of the President and Fellows of Harvard College J. R. Jewett '81 was appointed professor of Arabic, the appointment to date from September 1, 1911. After being graduated from Harvard Professor Jewett studied in Strassburg until 1891. Since that time he has been engaged in educational work in this country. He was at Harvard until 1902. Since that time he has been at the University of Chicago.

The following professors were appointed members of the Council of the Library to serve for one year, beginning January 1, 1911: A. C. Coolidge '87, W. M. Davis S. '69, C. N. Greenough '98, C. H. Haskins h. '08, G. L. Kittredge '82, Theodore Lyman '97, G. F. Moore h. '06.
