WILLIAM JAMES

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

It is with deep and sincere regret that the CRIMSON records the death of Professor Emeritus William James. His loss will be felt by Harvard, for in him she has lost probably her greatest figure in the world of thought. The undergraduates who knew him will feel the absence of a friend whose sympathetic understanding cannot be replaced.

In his works, in his life, Professor James assumed the facts of life as real and from this he wove a bond of sympathy with all mankind so strong and comprehensive that it placed him among the foremost philosophers of his time.
