Reginaid Candler Foster '11, of Charies River Village, was yesterday elected captain of the University track team for next year.

Foster prepared for College at Volkmann School, where he ran on the relay team which established the interscholastic record for the mile. In his Freshman year he won first place in the 220-yard dash and second in the 100-yard dash, in the dual meet held with the Yale Freshmen. He won his "H" last year by winning both the 100 and 220-yard dashes against Yale, establishing a new dual record of 21 2-5 seconds in the latter event. He also won both the 100 and 220-yard dashes in the intercollegiate games. This year Foster ran on the relay team which defeated Cornell in the B. A. A. games, but during the spring recess he pulled a tendon and this accident kept him out of both the Dartmouth and Yale dual meets. He started in a preliminary heat of the 220-yard dash in the intercollegiate games held at Philadelphia, but 75 yards from the finish a recurrence of the same trouble forced him to retire.

It was also voted to award H. Guild '10, of Medford, the University track "H".
