The position of Director of Scholarships in the Medical and Dental Schools was established by the Corporation at their meeting of May 23. Dr. Franklin Dexter, M.D., Columbia '87, formerly Associate Professor of Anatomy in the Medical School, has been appointed Director. It is intended that the Director shall familiarize himself with the needs and capacities of all applicants for scholarships and other aids, co-operating in this work with the Committee on Scholarships. It is intended also that the Director of Scholarships shall serve as the adviser of students in all matters outside of their studies. He will appoint regular hours at which students may seek his advice.
In addition to the functions above described, the Director of Scholarships will supplement the work of the University Appointments Office by maintaining a special employment bureau for students of the Medical and Dental Schools.
