The College nine lost the last game of its season to Malden High School by the score of 4 to 3 on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon. Both teams scored once early in the game. In the eighth inning Harvard made two runs on a base on balls, an error, and a single. In the ninth Murphy, for Malden, reached first on an error, took second and third on two successive outs, and scored when Wooley was safe at first on a misplay. The next man was safe on an error and Letherman's three-bagger brought both men home. Long pitched a good game for Harvard, striking out nine men.
The score by innings: Batteries.--College nine: Long and Reeves; Malden High: Owen, Westcott, and Murphy.
