The third round in the tennis singles for the state championship were completed yesterday afternoon at Longwood. A number of matches were also played in the fourth round. The tournament will be continued at Longwood this afternoon at 3.30 o'clock. The results of yesterday's matches in which members of the University participated are as follows: N. W. Niles '09 defeated A. S. Dabney '10, 6-3, 6-1; A. Sweetser '11 defeated H. P. Foster, 6-8, 6-4, 6-3; H. Nickerson defeated C. A. Chase, 6-1, 6-2.
