Harvard and Fordham will meet in their annual baseball game on Soldiers Field this afternoon at 3 o'clock. McLaughlin will pitch for the University nine, and Mahoney, who pitched for Fordham last year, will again be in the box for the opposing team.
Last year Mahoney was batted hard in the Harvard game, which was won by the University, 7 to 2, ten hits being made off his delivery. The Fordham team has six of the same players who were in the Harvard game last year, including besides Captain Mahoney, Scanlon, Schiess, O'Reilly, McCaffrey, and Gargan.
This year Fordham has split even with Holy Cross in two games, and also with Georgetown. Wesleyan has been twice beaten. Mahoney seems to be pitching better than last year, and has not been batted hard in any of his games this spring.
Young will be given a rest today and H. E. Reeves, substitute catcher, will be given his first chance in the game. Chase will replace Minot in right field. The former has made a good showing both in the infield and outfield on the second team, and has batted well, while with with one or two exceptions Minot has done nothing at the bat for some time and is liable to errors in his outfield play.
