University Team Victorious, 8 to 1, In First Championship Game.

The University lacrosse team defeated Hobart at Geneva on Saturday by the score of 3 to 2 in a fast spectacular game. In passing Hobart was superior, but the strong defence of the University team kept the score down. Hobart's throws at the goal were wild and a number of times goals were missed by a narrow margin. Harvard's defence, and one goal was made partly by luck.

Inasmuch as Cornell has lost to Columbia and Columbia in turn has been defeated by Harvard, a victory for the University team in today's game will give Harvard the championship of the Northern Intercollegiate League. If the team loses, it will be tied for the championship.
