In the semi-finals of the interscholastic tennis tournament, played yesterday afternoon on Jarvis Field, E. H. Whitney of Stone's School defeated P. Shepard of Wellesley High School, 6-2, 6-4, and E. H. Woods of Newton High School won from C. H. Broderick of Waltham, 6-1, 6-4. As a result, the standing of the schools is now as follows: Exeter 5, Newton High 5, Stone's 4, Waltham 4, Wellesley High 3, Lowell High 2, Melrose High 1, Noble and Greenough 1.
The final match, between Whitney and Woods, will be played on Jarvis Field tomorrow at 3 o'clock. The winner will have the right to enter the tournament at Newport in August for the national interscholastic championship.
