R. S. Parker '12 won the race for the Carroll Cup yesterday afternoon in 7 minutes, 30 seconds, over the mile course from the B. A. A. boathouse to the Cottage Farm Bridge. D. J. Lynn '13 finished second, E. S. Eaton '10 third, and A. G. Orr uC. fourth.
At the start, S. Royce 4S. took the lead, with Orr and Parker a length behind; at the half-mile mark, Lynn, who had rowed a straighter course than the others, had pulled up into the lead, and Orr had dropped back, leaving Parker and Royce struggling for second. A few seconds later, Royce fainted and Parker spurted to catch Lynn. The latter rowed strongly however and kept the lead until fifty yards from the finish, when Parker slowly passed him and won by half a length.
