The second University crew will race the third over a one and seven-eighths-mile course in the Basin this afternoon at 4.30 o'clock, weather permitting. As a result of this race, a second eight and a four-oared boat will be picked.

Second crew.--Stroke, Forster; 7, Metcalf; 6, Strong; 5, L. Smith; 4, Cudahy; 3, Loring; 2, Waite; bow, Whitney; cox., Voorhees.
Third crew.--Stroke, Trumbull; 7, Anderson; 6, Parker; 5, Beane; 4, M. Peabody; 3, Coe; 2, Hoar; bow, Wiggins; cox., Kempton.
Freshman Race Won by Second Crew.
In the first race of the season for the second, third, and fourth Freshman crews which took place yesterday afternoon, the second eight won and the fourth crew defeated the third. The race was rowed up-stream over a three-quarters of a mile straightaway course, beginning at the bend above the Stillman Infirmary. The second crew led from the beginning and finished with the fourth boat half a length behind and the third immediately behind the fourth.
As a result of the race a number of changes were made in the second boat. Weston went to 6 in place of Roosevelt, who took Frothingham's place at 5; Talbot moved from 2 to 4, Vickery going from 4 on the fourth crew to 2 on the second. Warren went to 3 in place of Locke.

Fourth crew.--Stroke, Eager; 7, Fay; 6, Browne; 5, Eckfeldt; 4, Green; 3, Vickery; 2, Taggart; bow, Dudley; cox., Duer.
