FIRST HYDE LECTURE TODAY
By M. Emile Boutroux on "Pascal" In New Lecture Hall at 4 o'clock.
M. Emile Boutroux, the eminent French philosopher, will deliver the first of the series of four Hyde lectures in the New Lecture Hall this afternoon at 4 o'clock. M. Boutroux is the thirteenth professor from Paris in a series instituted in 1898 by James Hazen Hyde '98.
Pascal and his apology for religion will be the subject of today's lecture; M. Boutroux will discuss the originality displayed by Pascal's point of view in this matter and will show what part of his doctrine still retains its vitality.
These lectures are open to the public, but seats will be reserved for ticket-holders until five minutes before each lecture. The dates of the other lectures follow:
March 10.--Auguste Comte.
March 17.--L'essence de la religion.
March 22.--Le mouvement philosophique contemporain en France.
Philosophy 4 Lectures to be Public.
In future the lectures in connection with Philosophy 4, the first of which was delivered by M. Boutroux yesterday afternoon, will be open to the public.
