In the third game of the season, the University association football team was defeated by Columbia University on South Field, New York, Saturday, by a score of 2 to 0. The offensive work of the two teams was very even and it was not until almost the end of the first half that C. E. Dwyer, on pass from G. J. Dwyer, made the first goal for Columbia. In the second half G. J. Dwyer scored. Owing to good defensive work by Fahnestock, Paul, and Cushing, Columbia was unable to score more than once in each half.
