The Cornell hockey team defeated the Yale team by the score of 3 to 1 at the St. Nicholas Rink, New York, on Saturday in the eighth game of the intercollegiate series. The game was fast and exciting and toward the end was marked by some roughness and by frequent penalties.
In the first half Cornell secured two goals and prevented Yale from scoring. The latter team carried the puck repeatedly down the ice, but was checked by the Cornell defence; while Cornell scored both times on long shots. When play was renewed in the second half Yale assumed the offensive and in a scrimmage near the Cornell goal scored its only tally. The last goal for Cornell came after a long dodging run down the ice.
