The second annual chess tournament of the University will begin on Monday. Entries may be made until that date on the blanks provided for that purpose at the rooms of the University Chess Club, in Grays 19; no admission fee is charged and the competition is open to all members of the University. The winner will receive a silver cup and will have his name inscribed upon the Trophy Table. If sufficient entries are received, a second prize will be given.
Entries for the third annual novice chess tournament, to be held at the same time, must be made at the Union today. The entry fee for men who are not members of the Chess Club is 50 cents. This tournament is open to all members of the University who have not played on a University team or who have not been winners of either of the preceding novice tournaments. There will be a first and second prize and also a special prize to the winner of the best played game.
