The University hockey team held practice for three-quarters of an hour in the Boston Arena yesterday afternoon. Preliminary practice was held, in which two sets of forwards were sent against two sets of defence. Practice ended with a seven-minute scrimmage between the first and second teams, in which there was no scoring.
The first team lined up as follows: l.e., Gorham; l.c., Palmer; r.c., Hornblower; r.e., Seamans; c.p., Foster; p., Graustein; g., Smart. The following new men reported: forwards, W. E. Allen '12 and J. B. Cummings '13; defence, R. B. Batchelder '13 and E. A. Graustein '13.
A cut has been made in the University hockey team, and the following 20 men have been retained: R. M. Blackall '12, O. M. Chadwick '11., J. S. Childs '12, R. F. Duncan '12, R. J. Eaton '12, N. H. Foster '11, W. B. Fraser-Campbell '11, H. B. Gardner '13, T. Gorham '13, E. A. Graustein '13, R. Hornblower '11, P. K. Houston '12, F. D. Huntington '12, F. H. Palmer '13, E. P. Pierce, Jr., '12, J. A. Pratt '12, W. S. Seamans, Jr., '11, S. B. Smart '12, R. A. Whidden '12 and G. W. Wightman '12. This cut is only temporary and all those dropped will be expected to report as soon as there is ice on any of the ponds in this vicinity.
