The Harvard Aeronautical Society held its first meeting of the year last evening. Professor A. L. Rotch h.'94, president of the society, presided. Before introducing Mr. A. D. Claflin '86, manager of the recent Harvard-Boston Aero Meet, Professor 'Rotch pointed out how beneficial the meet had proved form the educational standpoint, although not a financial success. In order that the financial situation of the society be more secure, he advised the organization of a corporate board of directors.
Mr. Claflin then submitted the following financial report of the meet: Mr. Claflin stated that the small gate receipts were the result of the inadequate equipment, owing to the hasty preparations. The meet was the first of its kind in the country, as all others have been only exhibits. Mr. Martin then spoke, praising the management of the meet. C. Grahme-White to Speak in Union. Mr. C. Grahme-White, England's official representative to the international aviation meet, has accepted an invitation of the Harvard Aeronautical Society to make an address in the Union next week. After the address an informal reception will be extended to Mr. Grahme-White.
