The conditions under which Mr. Grahame-White has offered to fly for the Harvard Aeronautical Society on Soldiers Field are magnificently generous and form a proof of his appreciation for the Society's work in the Harvard-Boston Aero Meet. Mr. Grahame-White is now receiving $5000 a day or more, and he offers to fly on Soldiers Field for his mere expenses. This remarkable offer places before the student body an opportunity such as no other community has ever had, and it is certain that practically no member of the University would be absent from such an exhibition as Mr. Grahame-White would give.
The only contingency which prevents the acceptance of Mr. Grahame-White's fine offer, is the possibility that the Athletic Committee may refuse the use of the field. There seems absolutely no reason for this, and such action would stamp the committee as highly indifferent to the interests of the student body.
