The Intercollegiate Fencing Association voted at its annual meeting to hold the annual intercollegiate championship tournament on March 25 and 26, and to hold the preliminaries on March 19.
The league was redivided geographically into two sections, instead of the three which were formed two years ago. The Northern division, consisting of Harvard, Yale, Cornell, and West Point, will hold its preliminary bouts at West Point. The Southern division, which is made up of Princeton, Columbia, Pennsylvania, and Annapolis, will hold its preliminaries at Annapolis. The two teams in each division that make the best score in the preliminaries will compete in the finals, which will be held on the evening of March 25 and the afternoon of March 26.
The rules of the Amateur Fencing League of America were rejected, and a code of rules to govern intercollegiate fencing was drawn up. Judges for the tournaments were also selected. Harvard was represented by W. Hunt '11, captain of the University team.
