THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE COLLEGE.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

It is interesting to note that in their speeches at the Yale alumni dinner last evening the presidents of the two greatest American universities dwelt upon the same subject--the development of the college in American universities. As President Lowell said, educational progress is like beating to windward in a sailboat. The last tack has been that of university development. Thus progress comes from over-accentuation of one thing at a time.
