TRACK COMPETITIONS BEGIN

In Cage Today at 4.--Cups will be Given for First and Second Places.

The first half of a series of track and field event competitions to be held in the Baseball Cage will commence this afternoon at 4 o'clock. These events will be open to all candidates for the Freshman and University track teams, and in all except one event, the 56-pound weight for height, the entrants will be handicapped. Cups will be given to the winners of first and second places in each event. The events which will be run off this afternoon are the 30-yard high hurdles, 30-yard low hurdles, 16-pound shot-put, and pole vault. Tomorrow at 4 o'clock the competitions in the broad jump, high jump, and throwing the 56-pound weight will be held. Entries may be made in the blue-book which is hung in the Locker Building, or in the Cage at the time of the competition.
