As the importance of the violation of certain eligibility rules mentioned in the editorial column yesterday seems to have been overestimated, a word of explanation is not amiss. The violations referred to were all in the minor sports and not over half a dozen in number. The reason that attention was called to these cases was simply that further offences might not be allowed to occur with the possibility of serious consequences.
