Mr. Hagedorn's Play at New Theatre

Hermann Hagedorn, Jr., '07 has made an adaptation of a Norwegian play entitled "The Witch," which will be presented for the first time in this country at the New Theatre in New York on the evening of February 14. The play was written by H. Wiers-Jensen and was produced last year at the National Theatre, Copenhagen, where it created a sensation.

Mr. Hagedorn found that the conditions in Norway in 1692 and those existing in New England, when the hanging of witches was not altogether uncommon, were so nearly alike, that he changed the scene of the play to Salem. This change was made with the permission of the author.

Mme. Bertha Kalich, who has recently been engaged as a member of the New Theatre company, will make her first appearance with that organization in Mr. Hagedorn's play.
