SUNDAY CHAPEL

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A final verdict as to the wisdom of the change in Sunday hours at Appleton Chapel can not be made after only a two weeks test, but the attendance yesterday and the Sunday preceding has been most encouraging. In every way the service has gained in dignity; the participation of the President of the University is an entirely appropriate revival of an old custom, which obtains at Yale and in many of our neighboring colleges. The change in the composition of the choir is also to be commended. The remodelling of the interior of the Chapel has been carried out in such a way that all the artistic possibilities of the building are realized

It would be out of place for the CRIMSON to urge the Chapel services on its readers. But the quality of the services, especially on Sunday, would surely attract many men into regular and profitable attendance if they but knew something of the character of the services. Appleton Chapel offers an intellectual and spiritual development which none can well afford to miss entirely.
