The University hockey team will play its third game of the intercollegiate series with "Princeton at the St. Nicholas Rink, New York, at 8.15 o'clock this evening.
This game promises to be one of the hardest of the intercollegiate series for the University team, as Princeton has won all her games and defeated Yale in the Christmas recess at Pittsburgh. The game will, furthermore, do much toward deciding the intercollegiate championship as either Harvard or Princeton will be eliminated from the running for the championship. Princeton has played two games in the series so far, defeating Cornell 1 to 0, and Dartmouth 5 to 1. The University team defeated Cornell 5 to 0, and hence appears to have a more consistent attack than Princeton. The latter's defence, however, is known to be very strong and the game will probably resolve into a struggle between the University forwards and the Princeton defence.
The University team has been fortunate in having good ice during the past week and much improvement has been made, especially in following back to assist the defence. The latter seems to be now finally settled with Foster at coverpoint, Huntington at point, and Chadwick at goal. The only position on the team which remains unsettled is left end. Several men have been tried in this position but none are fast enough to play well with Captain Hicks at left centre.
