The first public meeting of the newly organized Harvard Debating Club will be held this evening at 9 o'clock in the Assembly Room of the Union. All members of the University are cordially invited to be present and take part in the discussion which will be on "Private Dormitories and College Solidarity." At this meeting, which is the first of a series of meetings coming two or three times a month throughout the year, G. P. Gardner, Jr., '10, president of the Student Council, will preside. Papers will be read by G. L. Harding '10, W. Lippmann '10, J. S. Reed '10, T. T. Scudder '11, R. H. Smith '10, and P. Wyman '10.
These meetings are held with the view of promoting the discussion of questions of undergraduate interest and to give an opportunity for the expression of undergraduate opinion on questions of the day. At the meeting this evening all members of the University will be given an opportunity to apply for membership to the club by speaking briefly from the floor on the subject announced.
