SECOND BROWN GAME AT 4

On Soldiers Field.--Two Changes in Infield.--Hartford to Pitch.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University baseball team will play its second game with Brown on Soldiers Field this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Two changes have been made in the line-up of the University team,--Briggs, who will be out of the game for a week as the result of a sprained ankle, will be replaced by Brown at first base, and Crocker will play second, as MacLaughlin has been given a lay off. Hartford will start the game in the box, but as in the first game against Brown at Providence, Hicks will probably go in later.

The University team shut out Princeton in the second championship game, by a score of 6 to 0, and defeated Cornell at Ithaca, 5 to 2, in the two games played since their defeat in the first game against Brown. In spite of being handicapped by the loss of Briggs and MacLaughlin, the team ought to do well, as material improvement has been made in batting.

The Brown team has also shown marked improvement since the first game with the University team, both in fielding and at the bat. On Monday, however, they were defeated by Yale by a score of 4 to 1, but were apparently superior to their opponents in all but scoring ability. Nourse, who was responsible for shutting out the University team on May 19 and who pitched against Yale two days ago, will not start the game His place will be taken by Staff.
