In the second round of the tournament for the Massachusetts State singles lawn tennins championship which is being held on the courts of the Longwood Cricket Club, N. W. Niles '09 lost, to G. T. Putnam, in a close and exciting match, 5-7, 8-6, 7-5. In the fourth round A. S. Dabney, Jr., '09, defeated F. H. Burr '09 in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.
