The trial matches for the University tennis team played yesterday on Jarvis Field and at Longwood resulted as follows: R. H. Eggleston '09 defeated F. F. A. Pearson '11, 2-6, 7-5, 6-0; G. G. Browne '10 defeated P. T. Large '10, 6-1, 6-4; G. C. Adams '10 defeated E. L. Beard '10, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. The matches between F. H. Burr '09 and H. Nickerson '11 and between R. H. Eggleston '09 and G. G. Browne '10 were postponed on account of rain.
The following matches have been arranged for today R. H. Eggleston '09 vs. E. L. Beard '10, on Jarvis Field at 10, winner to play F. Cutting '09 on Jarvis Field at 12; G. G. Browne '10 vs. H. Nickerson '11, on Jarvis Field at 11.
