Of the Season on Soldiers Field Yesterday.--Two Short Games Played.

The first scrimmage of the spring practice for the football squad was held on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon. Two games were played, each of which consisted of two five-minute halves. In the first scrimmage team A defeated team B, 5 to 0, F. de. H. Houston '10 scoring on a long run after a fumble. The game between teams C and D was marred by constant fumbling, neither team being able to hold the ball long enough to score. C. D. Daly '01 was on the field coaching the candidates for quarterback.
