THE GOVERNMENT SERVICE.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Hon. Gifford Pinchot, chief of the Bureau of Forestry, represents a department of the government service in which Harvard has recently shown great interest. As the attractions of the out-of-door life have induced many college graduates to enter the profession, advanced work has been made possible for members of the University by the gift of the Petersham forest. Under Mr. Pinchot's administration the public has been made to realize the necessity of preserving the national forests, and much has already been accomplished in this important work. His address in the Union tonight on "The Government Service as a Career" should be exceptionally interesting.
