BOOKS IN UNION LIBRARY.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The report of the Library Committee of the Union has brought again to the attention of the University a state of affairs which becomes more and more disgraceful every year. Although the Committee has done everything in its power to permit unrestricted use of the library facilities by allowing books to be taken to various parts to the building, the members have grossly abused their privileges, and 73 volumes have been reported as missing from April, 1908, to January 1, 1909. It is charitable to suppose that when these volumes were removed, their readers intended to return them sooner or later, but apparently they have completely forgotten their intentions. The lest they can do is to return the books at once and submit to the stipulated fine. As to the future, it is for the members of the Union who believe in preserving the library intact, to create a sentiment which will brand all offenders as undesirable members of this community.
