DINING HALLS CIRCULARS.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Since their appointment a few weeks ago, the Dining Halls Committee have been doing what they could to improve the management of Memorial and Randall, but they have found that the difficulties of the present situation can only be cured by an increased membership list. To secure information as to where the members of the University get their meals, and to learn the common objections against the two halls, postal cards have been sent out with questions relating to these subjects. We trust that everyone will answer these questions carefully and fully, and return them to the Committee at once. It is only by ascertaining the wishes of the students and complying with them, that the Committee can hope to succeed, and the best way to help them is by giving them the information desired.

It would probably be no great task to forecast the results of this canvass. The objections which will be made by many undergraduates are the distance of the halls and the quality of the food. We cannot conceive of Memorial being moved South, but we can conceive of the quality and variety of the food being changed to suit the tastes of the students. If everyone will state fully what he does not like in the present system and what changes he would like to see made, the Committee may be able to establish the institution on a firm basis again.
