Hon. Samuel W. McCall, United States Representative from Massachusetts, will lecture on "The National House of Representatives," in the Living Room of the Union this evening at 8 o'clock. The lecture will be open to members of the Union only.
Mr. McCall was graduated from Dartmouth in 1874, and two years later was admitted to the bar. He has always been a prominent Republican, and was sent as a delegate to the national Republican conventions of 1888 and 1900. He was a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives for three years, and was elected to the national House, from the eighth district in 1893. He has served continuously since that time, and has been for a number of years a member of the committee on ways and means, which is one of the most important in the House of Representatives. He was also chairman of the committee on library and art during the last session.
Congressman McCall was recently offered the presidency of Dartmouth College by the board of trustees, but declined the offer on account of his activity in politics.
