Fencing Team Lost to West Point

The University fencing team was defeated at West Point on Saturday, losing seven out of the nine bouts to the cadets. Sohlberg won all three of his matches and was the best fencer in the meet. Barroll and Erhard of the Harvard team each won one match. The judges were Lieutenants Bickinson, Russell and Richardson.

The summary:

First round--Sohlberg, West Point, defeated Cutting, Harvard; Cocroft, West Point, defeated Barroll, Harvard; Hanna, West Point, defeated Erhard, Harvard.

Second round--Sohlberg defeated Barroll, Erhard defeated Cocroft, Hanna defeated Cutting.

Third round--Sohlberg defeated Erhard, Cocroft defeated Cutting, Barroll defeated Hanna.
