Whole Baseball Squad Out of Doors

The University baseball squad held outdoor practice on the Freshman diamond yesterday afternoon for the first time this season. The infielders were given practice in stopping grounders and in making double plays under the guidance of Coach Pieper. Trainer Donovan batted to the outfielders. Although the ground was soft and the ball wet, the practice was as good as could be expected under the circumstances. Everyone was given a chance in the fielding practice, in which the first combination seemed to work the best.

In the absence of Briggs and of McCall, who has not yet sufficiently recovered from his injury to resume practice, the squad was tried out in the following order: c., Currier; 1b; Hall, Waters, Hamlen, Harding; 2b., Haydock, Aronson; s.s., Simons, Tigrett, Rowley; 3b, Leonard, Keefe; l.f., Dana, Ware; c.f., Harvey, Kemble; r.f., Pond, Pounds.
