With the inauguration of each innovation we are more and more surprised by the fact of no one's having thought of it before. The great success of the Harvard Club of Boston is an example of this, and as the various functions of this organization are brought to our notice we cannot understand why its origin is of such recent date. A practice which has become quite common this year is that of extending to leading undergraduates invitations to speak at dinners of the Harvard Clubs throughout the East. The New Bedford Club was about the first to see the possibilities of this idea, and many others have taken it up. Two Seniors are on the list of speakers at the dinner of the club at Newark, New Jersey, tonight. Undergraduates are always glad of the opportunity of meeting the older Harvard men, and graduates enjoy hearing about affairs in Cambridge from an undergraduate standpoint. There is no reason why the custom, once started should not be continued indefinitely.
