Extended to Prof. Lowell Yesterday Upon His Elections as President.

E. P. Currier '09, on the part of the Student Council, yesterday presented to Professor A. L. Lowell the following congratulatory message, signed by the members of the Council:

"Professor Abbott Lawrence Lowell, President-Elect of Harvard University.

"We, the members of the Students Council of Harvard College, wish to extend to you our most sincere congratulations on your election to the presidency of this University. We welcome you in behalf of the student body, and we are confident that the best interests of the University will be fostered under your administration.

"The Council hopes that it may prove of assistance to you in the pursuance of your policies, and that it may be an effective instrument of co-operation between the students and the Governing Bodies."
